• Parkfield’s Andres Pinter selected as mentor for Techstars Los Angeles Accelerator


    Los Angeles – Parkfield Capital’s Andres Pinter has been selected as a mentor by the Techstars Los Angeles Accelerator. Techstars operates one of the largest and most selective startup incubator programs in the world. Since launching in 2007, the Techstars program has graduated 914 companies which have raised $2.8 billion in investment capital and are collectively valued at $6.7 billion. Prior Techstars accelerators have partnered with Disney, Nike, Microsoft, Ford, Target, Barclays, Sprint and many others.

    The three-month Los Angeles program will culminate in a demo day on October 10. The 2017 Techstars Los Angeles class is a diverse mix of companies in the e-commerce, media, retail, enterprise data, aerospace, AI, marketing and e-sports areas. Pinter previously served as a mentor for the Techstars Microsoft Accelerators in Seattle.

    Techstars offers participating companies a $100,000 convertible note plus $20,000 in exchange for 6% common stock. Perks for participating startups include hands-on mentorship, a network of more than 5,000 founders, alumni and mentors, and other substantial perks.

    Techstar’s first foray into Southern California came in 2014 with the Disney Accelerator. Disney has since taken the program in-house, but Techstars has gone on to launch Cedars-Sinai Accelerator Powered by Techstars and Techstars Music as well as Techstars Los Angeles.
